How to Help!
The Committee for Ethiopian Jews in Safed was established in 1985 by concerned citizens who wanted to assist the new Ethiopian immigrants as they began their absorption process in Israel.
The Committee recognizes that Ethiopian immigrants come with very little resources. Although the Israeli government supports them during their initial absorption process they receive no assistance for "extras" -- school supplies, ritual items, dental and eye treatments, family emergencies, etc.
The Committee solicits funds which are then used to help these individuals and families with such expenses.
The Committee operates solely through volunteerism and there are no paid employees.
